Poor Alice - frozen for all eternity part-way through the looking glass, with the world ahead of her exactly the same as that behind. Quite a disappointment for her, I expect!

Sculpted by Jeanne Argent and presented to the Borough of Guildford by Municipal General Insurance back in 1990, this eyecatching piece of work stands in the gardens close to Guildford Castle. I like it, but also find it slightly disturbing for some reason. With an added inscription, what a wonderfully creepy headstone this would make for the grave of the Rev. Charles Lutwidge Dodgson at Mount Cemetery  Shocked

It's quite a clever piece of work, John, although, as you say, a little unsettling.
