Orders have been received at Sheerness directing the building of the new torpedo gun vessel Grasshopper to be commenced as soon as her Majesty's corvette Tourmaline is removed from No 2 Dock

Western Mail 8/1/1886

Launched 30/8/1887, commissioned 1888. By August 1890 she was on reserve at Sheerness, 1892 sailed to Chatham and placed on Fleet Reserve Sold off 1905
