Unknown Airman Buried at Thorney
The body of an unknown airman which was washed on the Sussex coast this week after having been in the sea for about three months, and which was dressed in R.A.F. uniform, was buried at St. Nicholas Churchyard, Thorney Island, on Thursday. The Rev. A. C. Crookshank officiated. The coffin was draped with a Union Jack, and a R.A.F. party fired a last salute over the grave.
