The Sphere - Saturday 18 December 1948

A MINE WASHED ASHORE AT FOLKESTONE

During the gales which swept the Channel last week three mines were washed ashore in Kent and Sussex. At Folkestone a mine floated into the harbour and came to rest on the East Cliffs sands. In this picture a policeman stands guard over the mine while waiting the arrival of a Disposal Squad.
