I found several copies of this plan which had been reused for other unconnected purposes (typing on the reverse side). Any comments? Was it built as shown?

Hi John
I think the Medway Towns bypass follows the route of the M2 from just before the Medway Bridge down to the intersection at Brenley corner.

I would say that is pretty much the line of the M2.

The original by pass was as shown from the A2 at Cobham hill to the junction with the link road back to the A2 before Rainham. Two lane dual carriageway too, always far to narrow. Still I remember sitting on a bus on Strood hill for over an hour in the 1950s such was the congestion before it was built.
