An update!

This case is currently with the adjudicating authority awaiting their decision. Once we have received their decision, you will be informed of the outcome, what the next steps are. We anticipate that we will likely receive an adjudication over the summer, but will keep you informed if that changes. Your continued patience is appreciated.

I was very pleased to receive the below email this afternoon:

I am pleased to inform you that we have received an adjudication for you case of Non-Commemoration for William Henry Ketley.

I’m delighted to let you know the Adjudicating Authority has accepted the case of Stoker 1st Class Ketley for commemoration based on the evidence that was provided. You can view the newly created profile for William Henry Ketley on our website here - Stoker 1St Class William Henry Ketley | War Casualty Details 75470835 | CWGC

The next stage of our process is commencing the ‘Grave Found’ investigation, a search to determine the final resting place of William Henry Ketley. The information you have already provided is incredibly useful, and has been added to the case folder for review.
Once we have sourced either a burial register entry or written confirmation from the relevant local authority confirming burial, our colleagues in UK Area will then complete an assessment, to determine whether any current commemoration at the site is suitable from a CWGC Policy perspective. This process can take some time, and we appreciate your patience through this. Once this investigation is complete, we will be in touch to inform you of the outcome.

Good news indeed, another forgotten serviceman now commemorated. I'll leave this topic in the "Uncommemorated" section for now, and move it to "Naval Graves" when appropriate.

Well done!
