In the news is that all of the Royal Navy's type 45 destroyers are currently in port.  Presumably the rest of the navy does not need any air defence cover at the moment.

On the radio this morning it said that there was a report that the Type 45s are so noisy that a Russian sub (and presumably a Chinese sub) could hear them 100 miles away.  Well at least the Islamic State does not does not have any subs.
